Fable - The Rat and The Pat
Moral - One day, the rat had a dog named pat. Of course, over the years, Pat had learned that it is not normal for a Rat to have a Pat.Also, both their names together are weird, he thought _ratpat_. So Pat decided to get revenge by eating all rat's food and then leaving unannounced. The Rat came home and saw this, called the police and they found Pat huddling near a hobo, scared for his life.
Comments - He was really happy to see Rat again and decided that the name patrat is a good name and sounds like packrat! hahahah!

Fable - The Boy and the Nettles
Moral - Be firm _ decisive in dealing with problems
Comments - Often quoted as _the nettle grasped firmly does not sting_, this fable is not so much about doing things 'with all your might' but warns of being too tentative or fearful of the consequences.

Fable - The Boy Who Cried Wolf
Moral - _Nobody believes a liar, even when he tells the truth._
Comments - The fable tells us that if you tell the same lie once too often, even in fun, and get caught at it, you'll get a reputation for lying which will make it hard for people to believe you when you do genuinely need help.

Fable - The Apes and the Two Travelers
Moral - Don't always assume the values of others match your own.
Comments - Among many perspectives already shared, this could be seen as a cautionary tale to the honest illustrating how honesty can have negative consequences. It's significant that the only thoughts shared were those of the honest traveler. Looking at that passage, I believe his error was assuming that the ape shared his value of honesty.

Fable - The Woodman and the Serpant
Moral - Not everyone _or everything_ can be trusted.
Comments - 'No gratitude from the wicked?' What the heck does that mean? LOL, I don't agree with that moral, because number one, it doesn't make sense, and number two it has nothing to do with the story.

Fable - Trick or Treat _ I made this one myself_
Moral - There once were two kids. One day they were walking by a house when they saw two golden objects on a window sill. So they go and get them and bring them home. This continued for about a month. One day they decided to go to a pawn shop and see how much the gold was worth. Then the owner tell's them that it's not real gold and it's not worth anything. So they go home discouraged. As there walking by the house they see more _Fool's Gold_, but they just keep on walking. It turns out that these chunks were real gold and another kid fowned it and got alot of money. Fable - The Boy who cried Wolf
Moral - Take nothing for granted
Comments - Although the boy was certainly at fault for his game, at the end of the day the egg is very much on the villagers' faces_ they've lost their sheep, when they should have heeded the warning. Modern emergency services have a policy of responding to all calls, even if they suspect foul play. Alternatively, they could have disciplined the boy better, or replaced him.

Fable - The Hare and the Tortoise
Moral - Don't be complacent.
Comments - Assuming the hare paused out of arrogance, and inadvertantly slept too long, then it is quite simply her fault. If she'd continued to the goal, the tortiose would have looked very stupid indeed and the moral would be 'don't let your mouth make checks your body can't cash'. however, the original moral, 'more haste less speed' or 'patience is a virtue', would hold if the hare had been too tired to continue.

He saw the cross walk but it seemed like it was way way way down the road.So he looked right and it was clear and he was walking across the road when WAM! He got hit. Fable - The Fox and the Grapes
Moral - Life's too short, don't waste it.
Comments - Those grapes basking in the sun, high on that branch, will over-ripen, wither, and become raisins, and that fox will still not be able to reach them. Life is too short to waste your time trying to get something that's out of reach. Look for lower hanging fruit. There's no reason to believe that those unreachable grapes are any sweeter than another bunch hanging just a little lower.

Fable - The Ape and the Travellers
Moral - The truth will not please one who wishes to believe a falsehood.
Comments - I realize there are several suggestions for this one already. One thing which seems to make this fable interesting is that it is not clear whether the moral should apply to the king of the apes or to the honest traveller. Maybe something along the lines of the above suggestion would make a good compromise.

Fable - The Apes and the Two Travellers
Moral - Accept the truth with courage, for rewarding the lies of your praise that you wish to beleive will make you no nearer to becoming them.
Comments - I suppose what im trying to get at, even if i dont state it very gracefully is that you only continue to live a lie by encouraging others to lie to you. This fable seems to say that we should lie at times to protect ourselves or to flatter others but it doesn't seem like much of a moral to me. It could I beleive, allude to the idea that the reward makes not truth. Discouraging lying for gain. It's an idea. i hope its clear enough... :)
